An oldy but goody!

When was the last time you made homemade playdough?! Ethan & I gave it a go last week and made some purple "valentines" dough. I'd forgotten how fun it was to make it yourself. (Usually I just pick it up at the dollar store.:) It was easy & made for a great afternoon activity.

The recipe we used was:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 TBS oil
1 tsp cream of tarter
1 cup water

Combine all ingredients and cook together until the mixture forms a soft ball (about 1 minute). Knead for 30 seconds and give it to the kids to enjoy!

My kids would LOVE this. I think I will try and do this one. I will add it to my making heart shaped sugar cookies this week. Why does everything make so much mess? I could do without that!

oh no, do not tell my kids about this ability. I am a play-doh hater.
Messy, stinky crap. I prefer poopy diapers over play--doh. Oh I need some of Aimees pills

The smell and the crumbs, the colors are nice though.

We happen to love homemade play doh around here. A little side note: color it with KoolAid. If you poor a package of unsweetened KoolAid in, it not only colors it, but it smells way better. And then you really do want to eat it.

Thanks for the recipe. Ethan made some blue play doh and was so excited. He wanted me to let you know we tried it out.
