September and Mo's Fish Tacos

(Darn it)
I'm struggling with you September.  Really struggling.  Why did you have to come so soon?  I still haven't posted most of my favorite beach memories from the summer! Now what do I do?

Just start posting?
Alright then...I suppose my little projects will have to be put on hold for a few more days, and lets start at the beach.

{Choo Choo}
I dare say this was one of Aidan's favorite parts of summer.  And to avoid fits of screaming, he rode the train several times...and loved it.
He's not joking around when it come to the huff and puff of this little engine...

(Sand)

Some people hate it. Baby's eat it, it gets in your eyes, and its hard not to take with you.

I love it. It usually means that water is nearby. The salty, sandy type of water that calls this little Toad's name. This summer Seaside was hotspot for us, and it was especially fun when we hung out with Travis, Tanya, Trey, & Lucy. Ethan said it was one of his favorite things about our summer.

This could be one of my favorite things about summer, but also about being a mom.  Cuddling and kissing on a cold body straight out of the pool.  Love it.

Ah, Travis, Tanya, Trey, and Lucy.  Tanya is about really to have that baby any day now. Can't wait.

{Fish Tacos...My New Love}
Watchout honey, I fell in love this summer.  I never knew how much I was missing until I had a fresh fish taco.

Mo's at Cannon Beach was the place.

I started with a yummy shrimp salad and thought things were going pretty well.

But then I was introduced to these gems and my taste buds haven't been the same.

My brother Travis couldn't help but poke a little fun at me when I got about 2 inches away from my plate ans starting clicking away.   I guess that's a sacrifice you make when you want to remember something that so great...

oh, and looky here...

someone else may have fallen in love with a dinner dish as well...

how about those closed eyes...just letting his tastebuds so crazy.:)

(Yeah, I'm thinking this could be a great facebook profile picture!:))

(Fun Times)
I'm forced to say goodbye to you summer. Although you won't be far from my mind.

And don't take it personally September.  Its me, not you.

Your Toad

Snow Birdy + Every Minute Counts

{Heading South}
This little snow birdy is heading out.  Forget Utah and its chilly snow.  This owl gal is ready for fun in the the sun. Melissa  -my old sweet mission buddy and resident of AZ-  if you read this you'd better get ready! The owl I promised you months ago is on her way!

I may be freezing, but sewing is such a warm, cozy activity on a cold winter nights.  Need a little project to work on as you listen to your happy holiday tunes?  Here's my easy pattern and tutorial for this sweet little birdy!

{24 HRS}
Yesterday we had a really great treat! Recognize these guys in the picture below?  Yes, that's the master of the blog Trey and Lucy--my sister in law Tanya.

The kids?  Trey and Lucy themselves.

Tanya's little brother married a gal from these parts and so they came out for the reception! Unfortunately, they could only stay for 24 hours, but we made of most of it!

As you can imagine, the kids couldn't get enough of eachother...

Even Aunt Margie and my other sister Stooph {not pictured} came up from Southern Utah for the festivites!

And those that know my family here's a game for you...guess which sibling this cute little guy belongs to:

If you said Peter...you were WRONG.  This is Matt's little man Ezra.
{And baby boy #2 is due in a few weeks!}

Though our time together was short, it was better than no time at all...

Toad's advice: If you're lucky enough to be with those you love during the holidays make the most of every moment!

7 days and counting!

Take me out...

{Trey's game}

Who can resist a going out to the ballgame?! We can't.

Our cousin Trey had a game on Saturday and it was so fun to watch. For a special treat they had the game in a "real" stadium and announced each player as they came up to bat! It was so cute.

Families typically have traditions of things they like to do together--growing up we spent HOURS and HOURS at the ballfield. Of the 6 kids in my family {I have 5 younger siblings} all of us played at somepoint in our lives and 5 of us played through high school.

Pictured below: My brother Travis and his wife Tanya.

And speaking of siblings...

Because I was the 1st to leave home for college I missed out on most of my brothers and sisters games. While I was on my church mission I even missed Travis playing in the Oregon High School Baseball State Championship game. My parents would send me pictures from the paper and I really missed being there. I heard it was a nail biter!

Trav is now playing on a softball team and since I was in town I got to go and watch him last night! I was excited to be back at the field rooting on my bro.

We bundled up the kids...

Love this Lucy!

and headed out to the ballpark!

My brother hasn't lost his touch! I was impressed with how fast he still is!

Of course the boys just had fun running around with all of the kids...and playing in the dirt.

And there were the cutest kids at the game...check this sweet little blondie named Liam!

Yes, we are having a great time in Oregon. But don't worry. Bob is fine. We miss him and he misses us, but school has started again for him and he's busy, busy, busy. {He actually likes and encourages these trips because he can get so much done.}

And...its suppose to be in the 70's this week and in the 60's at the coast. That's what I'm talking about. I hope its nice in your neck of the woods too!
