If you ever went to the beach as a kid then you probably have some pretty fond memories of sand castles and searching for sea shells.  The Oregon Coast does not disappoint in either of these areas.  In fact, heading to Seaside with my grown sibling and their kids is not only fun, but its amazing to see what these kids come up with.  

So here you go...The Best Beach Activities via the "Smith grandkids."

Lucy (6) : Sand Cupcakes & Mermaids.    

Aidan (5): Sand Surf and Football 

Peter (31), Matt (29), & every kid in sight: GIANT sand castle building. Check out those buckets.

Tip: When you grab a bucket from the garage be sure it isn't one of your dads watering buckets...:)

The Best Seafood Boil Camping Dinner EVER

{Timothy Lake, Mt Hood Oregon}

You've never had a meal camping if you haven't had the crab pot broil my brother Travis and his wife Tanya put on every year.   Its one of those experiences that you just think about sometimes and could eat at anytime. 

If you're from the South then you know all about these awesome dinners.  Boil & throw it all on the table for everyone to enjoy!   Hands only eating.  Perfect for camping. 

Yum Yum. Yum. 

Of course, the kids really get into it!  Finally a chance to eat with their hands and not get into trouble! :)

And for dessert...



You just slice up some banana's in their peel, add chocolate chips, marshmallows, and peanut butter...then wrap it in foil and throw it in the fire!

It makes for the best chocolaty gooey treat ever!
